a poem against "what if" // hunimuni poetry 003
A lesson on the present: Time is a thief, lest we die unbloomed A pile of regrets, an agony of neglecting to seize "what is" Revel in truth Reveal the rhythms pulsing from within The eyes betray Proclaim, defies logic Confess, confirm Wrestling with the other senses' attempts to deny, conceal, or bury Lost in the cadence, my cells chant Tremble To douse any flickers of doubt and to honor the present: I love you Now, now, now Ripely so, than to suffer the agony of silence “There are all kinds of love in this world, but never the same love twice” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald, “The Great Gatsby” And so we love Philia, agape, storge, pragma And so we receive, we give, we give thanks I love you
